Safe treatment processes for BA masks
The novel coronavirus: be on the safe side with MEIKO
When the fire service uses BA masks on assignment, they are contaminated both from the outside, with soot and smoke, and from the inside, in the case of the novel coronavirus – transmitted via respiratory secretions.
The cleaning and disinfection performance of the TopClean M has now been assessed as highly effective against this new pathogen by the independent hygiene laboratory HygCen Germany GmbH.
- Use chemicals (Sekumatic FDR or EW80 mat) approved by the PPE manufacturer according to manufacturer guidelines (1 % solution).
- Contact time of at least 6 minutes (total process run time) between solution and BA masks at a temperature of 60 °C.
- Temperature, dosing and application time in keeping with chemical manufacturer's guidelines and total process run time all run according to the programme.
